ASA Golf Tournament – Raising funds for KidSports Alberta
The ASA Golf Tournament has chosen to raise funds for KidSport Alberta through the Shaw Birdies for Kids program presented by AltaLink. This is a non-profit program under the Calgary Shaw Charity Classic Foundation. Donations directed to a participating charity are matched up to 50% using the Foundation matching pool. The vision of KidSport is an Alberta where all children have the opportunity to participate in sports. KidSport supports children who need financial assistance with sports registration fees and equipment costs. They believe that the power of sport participation promotes the development of children’s social, mental and physical well-being. With your support, KidSport Alberta helps local kids experience the lifelong benefits of sport; kids learn leadership, hard work, dedication, and self-confidence and build the habits and support network necessary to become healthy adults. Sport is one of the best gifts a kid can receive. KidSport Alberta helps us make it So ALL Kids Can Play!
This year we are providing a new format to allow for more engagement and fun for our golfers. If there are any additional funds raised over the cost of the event will be donated back to our non-profit organization. We are offering the opportunity for our vendors to have an at hole sponsorship. Snacks, short games and give aways will be allowed, and encouraged. This is an excellent opportunity to advertise your company and any new products within a reasonable timespan. Vendors would be expected to bring their own tent for set up and come no later than 9:30am to set up at their hole.
The 2022 ASA Golf Tournament will support Haying in the 30’s a volunteer-led, charity organization that sends much needed funds to those in our communities undergoing cancer treatment. These donations are in honour of one of our ASA Members whose daughter, Shayla Wisholff, recently passed away from Breast Cancer. Her journey is a great inspiration to others and brought to light our need in Canada for more treatment options for people suffering from Breast Cancer.
